A few months ago we heard the news that 'Bird Box: A Ciegas' would have its own spin-off in Spanish, and that it was going to be directed by Àlex and David Pastor, known for 'Hogar'.
Now, Netflix presents its cast, which will star Mario Casas, Michelle Jenner, Patrick Criado, Georgina Campbell, Diego Calva Hernández, Alejandra Howard, Naila Schuberth, Celia Freijeiro, Lola Dueñas, Gonzalo de Castro and Leonardo Sbaraglia.
The original plot showed us Malorie (Sandra Bullock) trying to get to safety with her daughters, but all of them must be blindfolded by a mysterious force that pushes everyone who looks at them to take their lives. On this occasion, Sebastián and his daughter Anna will make the same journey through the empty streets of Barcelona. They will begin to form alliances with the survivors, but each time the threat of these invisible beings is stronger.
The dystopian and psychological horror film was released in December 2018 and became a phenomenon. At the end of that month, the film directed by Susanne Bier achieved more than 45 million views, reaching almost 3.5 million on the day of its premiere, always according to Netflix data.
One of the protagonists of this spin-off is Mario Casas, who had previously worked with the film's directors on 'Hogar'. There he played Tomás, the new tenant of the house where Javier Muñoz (Javier Gutiérrez) used to live before going bankrupt. Javier will gradually and truly sinister into the life of Tomás and his partner.
