Amazon Studios has released the teaser for 'Being the Ricardos' yesterday, a biopic about the famous Hollywood marriage of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. The film is directed and scripted by Aaron Sorkin ('The Chicago 7 Trial') and stars Javier Bardem and Nicole Kidman. The latter, in an interview with Variety, affirms how grateful she is to participate in this project: "She is an incredible woman. I am very excited that people see what Aaron discovered about her and the way she has played Desi and Lucy. and the way she's so rich. I didn't know about this. "

Kidman also explains to the same medium that, although the film takes place throughout a week of production of 'I love Lucy', 'Being the Ricardos' is not a remake of it: "The strange thing about Lucille Ball is that everyone thinks we're remaking the 'I Love Lucy' series, and we're not. It's about Lucy and Desi's relationship and marriage. It's actually very deep. " And it is that as the clip anticipates us, the spectators will contemplate brief glimpses of the life of the spouses accompanied by the voice-over of the same interpreter.

Racism and discrimination

In Sorkin's feature film we can also see the racial barriers that the couple had to face (serious personal accusations, political discredit, and cultural taboos), since Arnaz was highly discriminated against at the time for being Cuban. Ball, with admirable courage, was forced to fight with all of her strength so that her husband would remain on the television series.

The trailer has also confirmed the release date on Prime Video, which will premiere on December 21.
